Burnaby Dentist, Simply Wellness Dental Reopens And Is Booking Dental Appointments!

25 May 2020 DENTAL

It’s true what they say, distance really does make the heart grow fonder! We’ve truly missed all our patients here at Simply Wellness Dental and are thrilled to be able to invite you back into our office.

The College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia has released new guidelines for dental practices to follow as dental offices and other businesses reopen across the province. We want to make it clear that the health of our patients, staff, and community is our top priority. We have taken the time to implement additional health and safety measures for everyone. Your next visit may look a bit different, but you can feel confident that we are taking the steps to control our environment for everyone’s health and safety.

Changes In Our Office

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing practices,we have placed capacity limitations on our patient waiting room for the time being. When arriving for a scheduled appointment, we ask all patients to give us a call from their vehicle. We will then notify you when we are ready for your appointment and you can enter the office safely.

When you walk into our office, you will notice that we have equipped our reception desk with a plexiglass barrier. This new shield will help prevent the spread of germs and protect the safety of both our staff and patients. We have also invested in professional air purifiers that have been placed throughout our office to help clear the air of any pathogens and provide better overall air quality. Hand sanitizer has also been placed throughout our office and we ask you to use it as many times as you see fit during your appointment. Trust us, there’s no shortage here!

We’re asking our patients to use a contactless form of payment when possible. This includes Google Pay, Apple Pay and any card that allows tap. We have a new limit of $250 for contactless payment methods and encourage all patients to use this if it’s available to them.

The Team at Simply Wellness Dental

On top of the changes in our physical office space, our team members might look a bit different as well. All staff are trained on how to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE). When you come in for your next appointment, expect to see our team wearing N95 respirators, eye protection and face shields for your appointment. Don’t let our new appearances frighten you, this is the only way we can ensure everyone’s safety. We’re happy to see you and are smiling underneath our PPE.

Even though things are different at Simply Wellness Dental, we’re happy to be back doing what we love most: putting a healthy smile on all of your faces! We’re currently booking appointments for both new and existing patients. How A Dentist Near Me Can Help Prevent Gum Disease

When it comes to maintaining a healthy smile, most people work hard to keep their teeth beautiful but don’t pay much attention to their gums. Striving to keep your gums strong is an essential part of ensuring that your teeth look their best and that you don’t experience any serious oral health issues, such as gum disease. To keep your gums as healthy as possible, keep these helpful tips in mind.

Flossing Is A Must

If you want healthy gums, daily flossing is critical. This is because flossing is the only way to effectively remove bacteria that causes tartar. When tartar builds up on your teeth, it can’t be removed by brushing alone, and will inevitably lead to decay if left untreated. Flossing just once a day can make a huge difference in keeping your gums healthy.

Water Is Your Friend

Drinking water while you eat is an effective way to help your mouth remove food and bacteria that can stick to your teeth and cause decay. Additionally, water assists your mouth in producing saliva, which will help eliminate some of the bacteria hiding on your gum line as well.

Cut Back On Sugar

Eating foods that are filled with sugar is the fastest way to damage your teeth and gums.  Sugary foods tend to stick to the crevices of your teeth and are particularly difficult to remove. Instead of snacking on sweets, consider replacing sugary foods with healthy alternatives, such as cheese or nuts.

Listen To Your Mouth

If you’re at risk of developing gum disease, your mouth will usually tell you. Inflamed gums, bleeding after you floss, and a receding gum line are all signs that it’s time to visit your dentist. These could be the early symptoms of gum disease.

Don’t Skip Your Dental Checkups

Keeping your dental checkups every 6 months is the best way to prevent gum problems. Your dentist will be able to notice early warning signs of disease that you might not find until it’s too late. Professional cleanings two times a year also help fight decay from forming in the first place.

At Simply Wellness Dental in Burnaby, our trusted dental team is committed to helping your smile stay healthy and strong! If you think you may be exhibiting the early signs of gum disease or it’s time for your routine checkup, contact us today to schedule your appointment.
